Fonts can be purchased and downloaded 24 hours a day. Since orders can only
be placed online, you avoid the extra cost of shipping, and save time.
STEP BY STEP SHOPPING
Step 1: To view the fonts you'd like to
purchase, click the "typefaces" button and browse the Fontbox
section of Typebox.
Step 2: Select the desired format by clicking
either "buy for mac" or "buy for windows". Each click
will register a single order request.
Step 3: To edit your order, add another
copy of the same font, or view the itemization of your purchases, click
"checkout your buybox". Remember: "Buybox" is the
metaphor Typebox uses instead of 'shopping cart'.
Step 4: Once in your Buybox, you can view
the items you wish to purchase.
Step 5: You can subtract items by clicking
"remove". To add purchases, click the "resume shopping"
option.
Step 6: When you are ready to checkout,
and you are not already in the Buybox, click "checkout your buybox".
Review the itemization, then click "checkout".
Step 7: In order to initiate the checkout
process, Typebox asks that you review our Licensing
Agreement. Here, you will have one last opportunity to edit your order.
Once you are satisfied with your order and agree to the Typebox terms,
please click "I agree to these terms". You will be taken to
our secure server.
Step 8: This next screen, on our secure
server, asks for your credit card details. Enter the information requested
and click "pay now".
Step 9: You should now be on the "Download"
page (look for the wrapped gift icon). After your credit card has been
processed, usually under two minutes, you will see a table that is similiar
to your Buybox. This table will contain the necessary links to download
your purchased fonts. Proceed to download the font software one by one.
It is important that you copy the URL provided with your purchase, and
save it in a separate note or file. This URL allows you to access your
download 24 hours after your initial credit card purchase.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What happens if my computer crashes while downloading
my purchase?
Typebox provides each customer with a reference URL
on every purchase. It is important to keep this URL. After crashing, simply
reboot your browser and paste in the URL string. Every customer has 24
hours after the initial agreement to access their purchase.
Is it ok to embed fonts?
A Typebox License Agreement excludes font embedding,
as it is prohibited to distribute fonts. Distribution of a printed document
is not the same as the electronic transfer of a digital document with
embedded fonts. PDFs send live fonts with them.
How does a Typebox license work?
For the single license fee that you acquired, you accept
that Typebox grants you a non-exclusive license, limited to install and
use its Software on up to five (5) computers at one (1) location. The
Software may be downloaded to the permanent memory of one (1) output device
at the same location. Other output devices may be used via their temporary
memory. A copy may be made for backup purposes.
How does a Typebox Multi-device license work?
Separate from the single license fee, Multi-device
licenses are valid for any number of machines operated by the licensee
at one location, under one ceiling. Other parties, including branch offices,
off-site contractors, clients or contingencies must acquire separate licenses.
Please inquire about obtaining a special Multi-device license from Typebox
by contacting info@typebox.com.
Please put "Multi-device" in the subject field.
What if all the fonts are kept on a central file
server?
The Typebox License Agreement is based on the number
of CPUs and output devices that will use the fonts.
What do you mean by "output device"?
Output devices include all laser, ink-jet and linotronic
printing machines. Screen-based presentations and video display terminals
also constitute output devices. In summary: any mechanism or technology
where display is generated from the font software outlines.
What about sending files to a service bureau?
Providing a copy of the Software to a service bureau
is only permitted if they assure you in writing that they already own
a valid license from Typebox to use the Software. The Software transferred
must still carry the proprietary notices of Typebox contained in it.
Service bureaus need to purchase their own copy. As an alternative, Typebox
offers the "Service Bureau License" whereby the user may purchase
a license extension for use at a service bureau for half of the price
of the font, serving as an extension of an existing customer's license.
This license is only valid for output of that customer's jobs.
Service bureaus: Please iinquire about obtaining a
Service Bureau License from Typebox by contacting info@typebox.com.
Please put "Bureau" in the subject field.
